While thinking about planning for our Springtime Study of Plants
I always go to one of my favorite sites for kids Brain Pop Jr.

Brain Pop Jr. offers so much in the way of all subject area games and activities as well as a Movie of the Week for so many topics learned in an elementary classroom.
We have been reading so much about plants, seeds, and trees.
Here are some of our favorite ones.
I used all of the above titles in my guided reading groups for two weeks using writing as a response to reading. The kids had so much fun and learned a lot too. Since most of these titles are Non-Fiction selections we used our Reading Buddies Talk Bubbles to respond to the selections. Students read the selection with a reading buddy, use the talk bubble to discuss the questions, and then must report out to the whole group.
Our story From Seed to Plant also included the study of blends (spl-, spr-, and str-)
