Today I want to share one of my favorite books and author
At this time of year we are up and running! We have been talking a lot about goals, hopes, and dreams for this school year.
This wonderful book ties in with all of those things so well!
In this book a little girl named Grace LOVES stories!
She acts them out all of the time.
One day in school her teacher tells the class that they are going to do the play
Peter Pan. Grace instantly raises her hand to play Peter!
Of course, there are a few naysayers in the class who say that she CAN'T be Peter Pan.
At first, this makes Grace very sad, but then it spurns her into action.
She practices being Peter Pan for the whole weekend.
As you can probably guess, she is the perfect Peter Pan at then end of the play.
We talk about what Grace's goal (hope, dream) is in this book: to play Peter Pan.
We also talk about what she has to overcome to play Peter Pan, and how she goes about achieving her goal!
It is a big motivator for the kiddos! If Grace could do it, so can they!
